Who We Are

Wide Naturals is a Canadian nutrition company focused on the development and manufacturing of high-quality supplements.

We operate with a long-term, science-led approach, emphasizing regulatory compliance, consistent quality standards, and responsible product development. Our work spans formulation development, laboratory validation, manufacturing coordination, and quality oversight, allowing us to maintain clarity and accountability across the product lifecycle.

All Wide Naturals products are developed and manufactured in Canada. Operating within Canada’s regulatory framework means every product follows defined standards, documented processes, and required compliance pathways. We believe strong regulation is not a constraint, but a foundation for building products consumers can trust over time.

Our Capabilities

In-house Laboratory & Research Support

We are supported by our own independent research laboratory in British Columbia, Melius Microbiomics. The laboratory operates as a vertically integrated research platform, supporting formulation development, analytical validation, stability assessment, and quality-related testing across the product lifecycle. The laboratory is equipped to design and validate its own analytical and development methods, allowing research and formulation work to move beyond standardized, off-the-shelf approaches. The laboratory also maintains ongoing research capabilities in microbiology and microecology-related fields, supported through scientific collaboration with the University of British Columbia (UBC).

By maintaining internal research and validation capabilities, Wide Naturals ensures consistency, traceability, and quality control from early development through to finished products.

Manufacturing & Production Standards

Manufacturing is conducted in Canada through our established production facility, Canadian Phytopharmaceuticals, with extensive experience in regulated nutritional products. Our manufacturing facility operates under recognized quality and regulatory standards and has supported numerous products approved for the Canadian market since 1996.

This manufacturing structure enables consistent production quality while meeting Canada's compliance requirements.

Quality & Compliance

Quality at Wide Naturals is designed into the process, not added at the end.

  • Formulations follow documented development pathways

  • Stability testing is conducted to evaluate consistency over shelf life

  • Each batch undergoes defined quality verification prior to release

  • Regulatory documentation is maintained throughout the product lifecycle

This structured approach supports repeatable standards across products and production cycles.

Our Brands

Wide Naturals operates as part of a broader nutrition ecosystem. Our team also develops and supports independent nutrition brands serving different audiences and market needs. Each brand operates independently while benefiting from shared standards in formulation, manufacturing oversight, and quality systems.

Meet our Science Team

Dr. Jacek Usakiewicz, PhD

Director of Science and Research

Dr. Usakiewicz has over 20 years of industrial experience in pharmaceutical and biotechnology R&D. He is an accomplished leader and research manager with broad scientific expertise in drug design, assay development, protein and natural products chemistry acquired from years of cutting edge biotechnology research. The last few years of his career have been spent developing numerous mass spectrometry-based methods and applications. Dr. Usakiewicz holds a M.Sc. and a Ph.D. In organic chemistry from University of Wroclaw, Poland. He conducted postdoctoral research at the Biotechnology Research Institute at the National Research Council of Canada, Montreal. Prior to joining WIDE, Dr. Usakiewicz worked for several Canadian and US companies including MDS Protana, Perkin Elmer and Neurocrine Bioscience. Dr. Usakiewicz is an author of over 40 peer-review publications and 14 international patent applications.

Dr. Lukman Sarker, PhD

Lab Manager / Head of Microbiology

Dr. Sarker is a molecular biologist with expertise in analytical chemistry. He started his career as a microbiologist in ICDDRB on the Bill and Melinda Gates vaccine development project prior to pursuing his doctorate. At UBC Okanagan, Dr. Sarker’s Ph.D. focused on lavender secondary metabolites, and more specifically, how they regulate essential oil quality. With his extensive experience generating genomic data, Dr. Sarker can provide insight on numerous applications surrounding plant and life sciences. Recently, Dr. Sarker studied hepatitis B virus immunizations among university students and the association of viral agents in diarrheal diseases.
